The Malthouse Theatre is a multipurpose art complex containing a theatre with flexible staging and seat options, drama studio, dance studio, large foyer for art exhibitions, dining facilities and a number of multifunction spaces.
Programming professional theatre, dance, music and arts, we are also home to the Drama Department of The King’s School, Canterbury and King’s School International College during term time.

The main auditorium can seat up to 334 with an additional 50 standing spaces on the balcony slips.
With 6 different staging plans including 2 orchestra pits sizes and a studio, the Malthouse is able to offer a flexible space to suit your production.

The College Hall is an ideal space for a small recital, performance or rehearsal.

On entering the Malthouse you will be welcomed into our stunning foyer offering a bar, box office & cloakroom.
The Foyer is a great backdrop for an exhibition, networking event, celebration and more.
With a professional in-house kitchen, our superb chefs are on hand to design and produce private dining ranging from canapés to bowl food and banquets. Our dining hall is also open on selected performances offering a pre theatre menu.
The Bar located on the ground floor is open for performances offering a range of refreshments and snacks.
