Access

The Malthouse Theatre is fully accessible for wheelchair users. If you have any access requirements, please inform the box office when booking tickets so that we can ensure that your visit to The Malthouse is as enjoyable as possible.

Levels

Ground Floor: Box Office, Gallery/Foyer, Bar and Theatre (stalls).
1st Floor: Theatre (upper gallery), Dining Hall.
2nd Floor: Multipurpose space.
3rd Floor: Drama Studio, Dance Studio, Multipurpose space.

A staircase and a lift give access to all levels.

The Bar

The bar is situated in the foyer, on the other side of the staircase as you come through the main entrance. It is normally open 45 minutes before a performance, and during the interval. There are poser tables in the foyer for your convenience.

Toilets

Ladies, Gentlemen’s and Accessible Toilets are in the foyer on the ground floor with additional accessible toilets on the 2nd and 3rd floors.
There are baby changing facilities in our accessible toilets.

The Auditorium

The auditorium is a flexible space, with a variable capacity. All seats all have backs to them; most gallery seats consist of padded 2 person seats with the addition of upto 50 standing spaces with a bar on which to lean.

Wheelchair Users

Wheelchairs can be accommodated in the auditorium – up to 4 spaces for wheelchair users are available for each performance. Please let the Box Office know of your requirements when booking.

Hearing Systems

The theatre is equipped with an infra-red system. Those who wish to use the infra-red system should collect a headset from the Box Office, and return it at the end of the performance.

Guide Dogs

Guide dogs are welcome in the auditorium. Please request an aisle seat when you book.

Smoking Policy

Smoking is not permitted anywhere in the Malthouse Theatre or Malthouse Campus.
