Feeling different, teased by his friends and not accepted by his family, the Ugly Duckling is sad and lonely. Through a series of adventures, he soon learns who he really is and his family realises it doesn’t matter what you look like but how good your heart is.
From the creators of The Princess & the Frog, Teddy Bears’ Picnic, Alice in Wonderland, The Princess & the Pea, Cinderella, The Magic Word, The Nutcracker and Sleeping Beauty comes this lovely ballet for the whole family.
With the crystal-clear storytelling, larger than life characters and gorgeous costumes you’d expect from this innovative company, The Ugly Duckling tackles themes of social acceptance and liking yourself in a child-friendly, humorous manner.
Great for the whole family, especially children aged 2-12, including people with special needs.
The theatre box office and bar will open an hour before show time for ticket collection, sales and refreshments.

Parking
The Theatre campus has very limited onsite parking available, parking any available spaces will be allocated on a first arrival basis. We recommend you use local car parks such as St Radigund’s (5-7 minute walk), Pound Lane (10 minute walk) Canterbury West (10-12 minute walk) or public transport.
Mask Wearing & Covid-19
We ask that you do not attend the theatre if you have tested positive for covid-19 and are within your 5 days of isolation. Mask wearing is no longer mandatory but we support an individuals choice to wear a mask throughout the building.
The theatre has a fresh air flow system which pumps fresh air from outside into the auditorium – this can mean if the outside air temperature is low the theatre can feel cool.
Refunds & Exchanges
The production company is not offering refunds unless the show is cancelled. Tickets can be changed for an alternative performance of the same show (subject to availability). We can endeavour to resell your ticket, if the show is sold out. If your ticket is sold, we will refund the ticket value to the original payment method.
